My Integrative Oncology Network

Cancer Care works beast as a team

No single practitioner can cover every aspect of nutrition, treatment support, emotional wellbeing, rehabilitation and recovery. Over time I have built relationships with practitioners whose skills complement my own. Where I believe one of them may add something useful to your care, I may suggest that you connect with them.

Addy

Deep Relaxation and Inner Clarity

Relaxation, meditation and supportive care

Addy has close to 30 years of experience as a healthcare professional and offers gentle supportive therapies for people who would benefit from relaxation, emotional calm and time away from the medical side of cancer care.

Sessions may include gentle bodywork, acupressure, guided visualisation, meditation, sound therapy and supportive self-care. These approaches are not treatments for cancer itself, but for some people they can provide valuable support with stress, relaxation and overall wellbeing.

May be especially helpful for: relaxation, emotional calm, meditation, bodywork, stress reduction and supportive self-care.

EMDR New Zealand

Trauma-focused psychological support

Finding an appropriately trained EMDR therapist

A cancer diagnosis and its treatment can be traumatic in their own right and may also bring earlier experiences back to the surface. For some people, structured trauma-focused therapy can be very helpful.

EMDR — Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing — is a recognised psychological therapy used to help people process traumatic and distressing experiences. Rather than referring to one individual clinician, I recommend using the EMDR New Zealand directory to find a suitably trained practitioner, either locally or online.

May be especially helpful for: medical trauma, previous trauma, anxiety linked to treatment, distressing memories and ongoing nervous-system hyperarousal.

A note about referrals

The practitioners listed here work independently of Neff Functional Medicine unless otherwise stated. I recommend them because their skills may complement my own in the right situation, but not every patient will need to see every practitioner. My aim is to help build the right team around you, without making your care more complicated than it needs to be.
